PASTOR JEFF JOHNSON
Life change, why else do church unless we are open to God changing us to be like Him? That’s the kind of church SJA is being shaped into and why I am so excited to be the Lead Pastor. With almost 30 years of ministry time under my belt, I can't think of a more important time than the present to belong to a church that believes in an amazing future. I hope you’ll join us in this awesome journey.
PASTOR NICK SMITH
Youth Ministry Director
It has been my pleasure to serve on SJA's staff since 2009. Reaching, teaching, and equipping young people in Jr. High and High School to serve God is my passion. I also serve as the Worship Coordinator and love leading people into the presence of God through music. I earned a B.A. and an M.A. from Vanguard University in Religion: Pastoral Leadership Studies, and am an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. My family includes my beautiful wife, Jessica, our energetic son, Dominick, and our adorable daughter, Londyn. Some of my hobbies include basketball, exercising, and reading.
PASTOR JUAN ROSAS
Spanish Ministry Pastor
"A person who forgets where he came from is a person who has forgotten his purpose!" Those words from an anonymous writer have stuck with me to this day. Today I am a Pastor, husband and father of three. But, I will never forget the day I walked into SJA, because my life has never been the same. The Lord used this church to radically transform my life, and now I have this amazing privilege to be on the pastoral team. I will also be amazed with you to see what God is going to do with your life if you trust Him, and get yourself plugged in to the body of Christ. If you want to know more of my story, feel free to hunt me down on a Sunday or a Wednesday, you can find me in the Hispanic Church. I would love to meet you and together we will exchange our stories and marvel on what God has done with us!
PASTORS LEO & MELODY PAGLIEI
Spiritual Care Pastors
We are passionate about the spiritual care of God's children. The Lord put a calling on our hearts to be part of SJA to counsel those in need of most any kind spiritual guidance: from salvation, to marriage, to personal and family issues. We also facilitate classes in Spiritual Care for both personal enrichment in a closer walk with God, and in training any who might feel led to pursue a ministry in the area of lay-counseling.
PASTOR JUNE STEVENS
Seniors Ministry Director
Since the passing of my dear husband, Ron, in 2015, I am happy to continue working with John and Eva Gifford in the LAF program, as well as continuing Widow's Tea. Ron and I were in ministry since 1957 and enjoyed the privilege of being the Senior Pastors in four different churches (two in Canada and two in the U.S.). We were both ordained with the Assemblies of God and are the proud parents of two daughters and two grandchildren. We have been greatly blessed over all these years. We love our ministry!
Children's Ministry Director
I grew up in church and realized early on that God gave me a love for teaching children. I taught elementary school for several years and found myself involved in children’s ministries in one capacity or another. I have taught Sunday school and mid-week services, written curriculae, organized outreach events and now find myself as the director of Children’s ministries here at San Jacinto Assembly. I love leading a team that is passionate about reaching kids with the message of God’s love. There is always room on our team for more “Kid” people and would count it a privilege to have you come aboard!
My wife Jennifer and I have been attending SJA since 2006. For the last 4 years I have served on the Administrative Board as Church Treasurer. More recently I have taken on the role of Finance Administrator handling the daily finance operations of the church. In addition to my church duties, I am Vice President of Commercial Lending with a local bank. My wife and I have 3 children. I grew up in the church and I have always felt I was to serve in some area. Over the years the area of service has changed many times. My wife and I previously served in many areas, including Youth, Nursery and Security.
My heart's desire is to touch the lives in this valley, and that became a ministry driven base in my life. With the knowledge and the hands-on experience I have gained over my lifetime, I felt called here to serve. I also felt called to help lead other ministries such as the ushers, security teams, and baptismal teams. I'm a man who wears many hats!
Executive Administrative Assistant
I have been a member of SJA since 2008 and active in several ministries such as LAF, teaching 1st and 2nd graders then a staff member in 2013. Working with such a great team of dedicated people has truly been an honor. SJA is composed of a strong, multi-generational church that can only be fully experienced through participation at some level. I guarantee you will be blessed.
Administrative Assistant/Facilitator SJA Care Ministry
I was raised in a Christian home with remarkable parents and I have always known the love of Jesus. In my youth we moved to this valley and I attended a revival at a local church where I surrendered my heart to the Lord. He has blessed me with an incredible husband and together we enjoy camping and off roading. During our many years of marriage we have experienced life’s greatest joys and tremendous loss and tragedy. My unshakeable faith and trust in God has been essential to sustain living each day. I have been employed at SJA for numerous years (twenty something but who is counting?) and the Lord continues to mend, restore and expand my heart for His people. I choose to put my hope in the Lord!
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my strength, in whom I will trust...”
As I wrote this bio a song has repeatedly echoed in my head that my mom used to sing to me. “This is my story, this is my song, praising my savior all the day long…”
I thank the Lord for so many wonderful hymns that were written by people who had a passion to worship Him!!
I have been coming to SJA since 2007. At that time, my husband and I were between churches and we came to a "First Sunday" worship service and felt right at home. So, here we are! I volunteered cleaning for a while, and was blessed when they offered me a job. I love serving here at the church.
