Life After Fifty (LAF) is a program designed to integrate the traditions of the past with the church of today. We understand that seniors (age 50+) are the fastest growing age group in our part of the world. We also understand that with all the changes in today’s church they need to feel wanted and needed. For these reasons we have designed our “Life After Fifty” ministry to serve this incredible demographic.
There are many aspects to our program designed to keep this age group involved, busy and entertained such as:
On the second Friday of each month (except July and August) we host a banquet just for our seniors. We meet at 6:00pm for coffee and fellowship and then enjoy a wonderful meal prepared by our own "More Than Manna" ministry volunteers. After dinner we enjoy an hour of wonderful entertainment. In the past we have enjoyed, the Greater L.A. Cathedral Choir, the Irish River Dancers, Hawai'ian dancers and the Damascus Road Bluegrass band, just to name a few.
Join Pastor June Stevens on the third Tuesday afternoon of each month at 1:00pm in the Box for tea, treats and fellowship. This group is open to women of any age.
Sunday Lunch Bunch
Sundays after service, our seniors are invited to go to lunch at a local restaurant, hosted by Pat Mathewson. The location varies by week, so check your Connection for the current location.
On the last Monday of each month we meet at 9:00am at Cafe on the Green at the Soboba Hill Country Club for a great breakfast and fun fellowship (1537 South Lyon, Hemet, CA 92543).
The LAF group is a very active one, and we've always got a great event in the works for our seniors. Keep your eye on the Connection for events, and we look forward to seeing you there!
